Summer Fancy Food Show Sizzles with Honey Products

Summer Fancy Food Show

The National Honey Board team was on-site at this year’s Summer Fancy Foods Show in New York City, walking the aisles and talking to food manufacturers and brands about their latest made-with-honey products. Needless to say, we were quite busy as honey products dominated the show floor in categories ranging from RTD beverages to snacks to meat products. Here are a few that caught our attention when browsing the exhibition hall.

Honey Infused Tea, Trishnna Tea

Trishnna Tea’s unique honey infused teas come in a pleasing range of varieties: Ginger Turmeric Green Tea, Masala Chai, Mango Pineapple Green Tea, Blueberry Green Tea, and Sweet Matcha. This product caught our eye for a number of reasons, but the standout innovation is that the product is a concentrate where the consumer adds water. Just add one teaspoon of your favorite variety to 8 ounces of hot water and voila, you have hot tea. Or shake/dissolve contents in room temp water and pour over ice for a thirst quencher on hot days.

Honey and Raisins Granola, Avelina

Branching off of its cereal line, Avelina debuts Honey and Raisins Granola, which is gluten-free and uses only natural ingredients. This variety joins another made-with-honey granola in the brand new line: Honey and Almonds.

Dry Roasted Honey Sesame Chickpea Snacks, Talia

Talia’s Dry Roasted Honey Sesame Chickpea Snacks housed in the New Product Showcase enticed us to visit the booth for another snack taste test. This trendy product — chickpea items were a hot ticket on the show floor — included a touch of honey and roasted sesame seeds and the perfect crunch. They’re all-natural, gluten-free and provide 5 grams of protein per serving.

Free-Range Sriracha Honey Turkey Jerky, Think Jerky

We were thrilled to see a new free-range turkey jerky infused with Sriracha Honey at this year’s Summer Fancy Foods Show. Only 60 calories per serving, gluten-free and complete with the perfect balance of sweet heat, one of the biggest honey trends of the year.

Hot BBQ Honey Roasted Peanuts/Almonds, Rufus Teague

We’re used to squeezing some mouthwatering bottles of honey barbecue sauce from Rufus Teague, but this popular brand threw us for a loop by introducing two new non-sauce products. Rufus Teague Hot BBQ Honey Roasted Almonds and Peanuts were introduced at the show and capitalize on the hot honey trend with a delicious product.
